This is a WORST company for Electric wheelchair, specially CIRUS. Very bad Customer Service Repair

This Cirrus plus is with me and i wanted an expert reply in my case of flashing code light Three red & one Yellow, but since its my only wheelchair this is almost new. & I am mailing Drive website mail address, but there is no reply and help. they are phetic in service and heavy & bulky chairs are worst i preffer a china & Korean made chairs , they are light weight and foldable including inbuilt battery, and easy to carry, long lasting. This is my first American chair and i am not happy, will never buy american brand agian. best is Chines low cost efficient and ultra light weight. Atleast they dont steal hard earned money from disabled. Live long China products. China takes care of Every one in the world, specially disabled products. not like hungry and Greedy Americans.

I bought a piece from this company to fix my drive rotator. It did not fit I sent it back .I have received no refund. I have been told their records say I received a refund. I assure you I did not. Someone fix this.

Crutches manufactured incorrectly

I received a pair of crutches from the urgent care office for a strained ankle. While walking ( crunching ) the crutch tips failed due to a missing washer. My crutched collapsed and I now have a torn Achilles' tendon. I called to complain and was only offered properly manufactured crutch tips. The second crutch failed the same way. The first crutch failed less than 1 day after I received, the second failed less than 1 week of use. I read the injury can take a year to never to completely heal. I hope I can still hike with my kids. I'm only 25 and worried I will walk with a limp forever

Sorry to hear that. I would have hoped after I called to tell them their mistake they would implement some robust manufacturing otherwise the part is garenteed to fail shortly after you get the hang of walking with crutches.

I had the same thing happen to me. Broken foot and leg and just wiped out when the end of the crutch failed.

I was going to the restroom in my home which is mostly carpeted.

When I got to the restroom, the metal end was exposed and down I went. I hurt my hand and my shoulder on my left side and my right leg and foot are now in severe pain again.

Weld broke on front wheel assembly

SilversportII standard wheelchair: Only 2 weks old and the main weld that holds the front wheel assembly onto the chair frame broke and sent my mother tumbling out of the chair when it tipped over. The little metal brace support easily bent under the pressure. My mom is tiny and only weighs 130 lbs, and is recuperating from surgery for a broken hip. I am appalled at the terrible workmanship and shoddy materials used in a product manufactured for people who are disabled to begin with! What looked like a solid weld was actually a fake little tag welded box and powder coated over! Shameon you Drive Medical!

My nebulizer failed under warrantee. I hecked with drive medical and was advised to return it to the selling vendor. I contacted them in Nov 2012. I returned it to them. I had not heard from them so after the holidays I called them ( Oxy Med Home Care, Trenton,nj. ) They person I spoke to found it in the back room, and nothing had been done. They started to process the claim and were told by Drive medical that they don't make that model any more. There was further delay because of lack of inventory. I finally got a nebulizer on 3/19/2013. This unit did not work properly. I spoke to drive medical about my problem with the replacement. There was a unit that would work but it would not be available untill 5/21/2013. I acepted the delay. Drive also asked me tolocate a provider here in AZ to facilitate the warrantee since the original selling vendor was not in good standing with Drive Medical. I tried 5 different vendors and no one wanted to facilitate the warrante I contated Drive again and explained about the 5 vendors not wanting to cover the warrantee. We came to a resolution on this date 5 17/13, and now the give me a ship date of aprox 6/6/13. 6 months of trying to get a replacement nebulizer. I had to purchase another one for health reasons, but I still need the replacement. My advise is not to purchase Drive medical products !

Don't Every Trust this company

Got my extremely disabled mother a wheelchair from these people. Right from the start the black wheels left black marks all over the carpet and lino. Phoned them and they were TOTALLY UNHELPFUL. Suggested my elderly father just get down and scrub the black marks off the carpets on a daily basis. Also said it was my parents fault as they had used the wheelchair outside - wheeling her from front door to car. What sort of company sells a wheelchair and then says it can't be used outside !! There is nothing on any paperwork/advert that says it is for indoor use only. These people are theives plain and simple - they've taken money from an elderly infirm couple and are now fobbing them off. Have now passed this to Trading Standards. Don't order from these people, they will cause nothing but stress and heartache for your family.

The Tridentine power chair has no power

The Tridentine power chair has no power. It will not go up from my din to my living room. This the controls are very jerky. They said it was an outside chair in their ad. It will not go on grass. Or on rock path to my driveway. It has very little control from the joystick to the motors. On the rock path it just digs up the rocks very hard to control. In their ad they said it was seat was adjustable up-and-down it is not. I have a jazzy power chair that goes good outside will go up and down the ramps with no problem this drive power chair is the biggest piece of *** I have ever owned. Drive Medical - unsafe, poor quality wheelchair - Silver Sport Reclining

The pad for the leg rest was attached with a weak plastic part which sheared off after just a few months of normal use by a 140 lb. person. This was a very unsafe situation. The patient's leg fell through unexpectedly while being pushed in the chair, and her foot got caught in the wheels when the support pad fell off. Drive Medical should consider recalling the chair and/or replacing the weak plastic part with one that can hold the weight of a leg under normal use. When I called to inquire about getting a new part I was told "the frame" has a limited lifetime warranty, but "the parts" have a 90-day warranty, and as I called exactly five months after the purchase date (bought Feb 22 and called July 22) I'm out of luck as far as the warranty is concerned. Also, I can't just order a replacement for the small plastic piece which broke, but rather have to buy a whole new leg rest for more than I can afford to pay from a third-party vendor. I'm unfortunately considering throwing the wheelchair on the junk heap, now, rather than getting it repaired. This is a bad situation and a sad commentary on customer service, and corporate responsibility for producing quality products.

I have had many conversations with "Drive Medical" about the problem charging the batteries on the motorized wheel chair. They won't even look at it. They tell be now after a 4 month runaround, that I have to mail them the battery charger and if that is the problem then I will get a new one free. If it is not the problem I will have to buy a new one. What sense does that make? If it isn't broke why would I want a new one. This company is awful to deal with. Don't buy medical equipment for your loved ones. My father had to go without this chair for the last 6 months of his life!

I had a similar experience with the Silver Sport Reclining Wheelchair (complaint posted separately). The part that is supposed to hold up the leg rests broke and the patient's leg fell to the floor and got caught in the wheels.

It is very unsafe, and Drive Medical says they will not honor the warranty because I called five months after we purchased the chair, and the warranty for "non-durable parts" is 90-days.

Even if they did replace the part I wouldn't trust it to hold any weight unless the part was recreated out of a stronger material than plastic. It should be recalled and fixed.

This product was damaged by the user of the chair and let the battery sit uncharged for 5 months and then wanted a new one at no charge. you can't buy a car and not turn it on for 5 months and expect the car to start.

The battery will be dead. I have purchased many items from Drive and they have always stood by there products and warranty

Which is it, are you an insider with amazing knowledge or one of their many satisfied customers (said sarcastically)? Those are wheel locks, not brakes. And remember it may be called a knee scooter by some but it's a knee walker, it is meant to replace your injured foot or ankle leg for walking purposes.

go down a slope, you drag the so-called brakes a little bit and they'll do just fine. But yes on average the wheel locks on so many knee scooters really do suck. The dr790 is the is the best one of theirs and there is one by Roscoe that has a hub style brake that is far superior. Made in China by the lowest bidder, drive would rather sell you mediocre junk and give you free parts or take the risk then to risk what they might consider over engineering and wasting money on their end.

They think they are the Sony of DME equipment and they are really just the audiovox or Jensen. A great variety with a great presence and plenty of good products but they have their head so far up their own backsides that they don't even care about their brick-and-mortar stores enough to give them competitive pricing as compared to what Dr corporate sells to Amazon for. The medical supply house that I work for, we are washing our hands of drive as much as possible. No Grace no charity no consideration no respect to the brick-and-mortar guy in your hometown and mine where real people like to shop to see what they are buying and meet the person that might have to work on it and knows a little something about it.

And oh by the way, you bought possibly the worst most dangerous knee scooter in existence. A single-handed wheel lock,no handlebar style grips outside of the centerline of the knee walker to help you balance or steady, you can't even steer this thing so it's for going forward and backward. And you have to lean forward to use it! Tell me you went into the showroom and tested this and liked it?

Shame on whoever rented or sold this to you if you did it in person. Due diligence, my friend. Bad choice by you. That thing is a turd.

And that's being generous. I've managed to DME stores now and I never even blinked at that silly thing. In the age of the internet which is what? The last 15 or 20 years?

If you like to shop in-store, don't assume just because it's in store it's all that's available or that it's the best. it may just be what they get the best price on that they can make look attractive to you to Garner more sales at a proper margin.
